In order to save and maximize users’ network resources, files transmitted via instant messengers or downloaded from Internet are always compressed packets. Are you still feeling helpless waiting for decompression? Want to realize decompression in an instant? WinMount is what you should know about.
This is a whole new concept. You may take WinMount as a combination of Daemon Tools and Winrar without decompression function. Moreover, this combination has instant decompression function.

After an instantaneous virtualization process, Windows will discover a new hardware and a new drive will appear.
Open this drive you will see all the files in the compressed packet and you can use all the resources as you wish. At the same time a txt document will be generated to tell you that this drive is virtualized by WinMount.
It’s just this simple; all compressed files are mapped into a new drive in an instant much shorter than decompression. In addition, WinMount supports a lot of compression formats. Can you feel its power now?
The next will be the “Virtualize CD” function. Let’s virtualize vista installation CD to another CD.
Then we can find it in Windows Explorer and auto-play function will automatically pop up.

Now I compressed important files into TXT.rar and virtualize it with WinMount.
No changes are made to those files in the new drive and we can call these files as we wish.
When this file is being Mounted, it is forbidden to modify files inside.
Then let’s first delete all the files mounted and conduct “unMount” (like abstracting ISO out of the CD driver in Daemon Tools), and “Mount” the original RAR file again. Still no changes are made to the files inside. This protects important files from modification. In other words, all these files are read-only and will not be deleted by mistake.
Because decompression hardly takes time, it is a good way to save space. We’ve been comparing the data before and after decompression, there was a great difference. If you take advantage of this function, you will benefit a lot from it.
Last but not the least, virtualize hard disc; it’s another powerful function of WinMount. If you have something you want to keep in secret, it’s much easier to do with this function than files encoding.
Click “Mount Drive”, then a dialog box will pop up to ask you whether to writeback to file, i.e. whether to save the virtualized hard disc when canceling virtualization. If you want to save it you have to provide a file name and WinMount will automatically save it as *.WMT.
Now you can save those secret files into this WMT file and Mount them when you need. Although there is merely no difference from making into ISO, the time for generating ISO is totally omitted, which brings us comfortable operating experience.
