“Baby”- car for $2500 is created in India
18th January 2008
The Indian company Tata Motors has officially introduced a new mini-car Tata Nano, which since the beginning of sales will be one of the cheapest cars in the world. The cost of Tata Nano will be 100 thousand rupees, or about $2500.
”Baby” Tata Nano is a four-door vehicle car, capable of carrying up to five passengers. The length of the cars is 3.1 meters, the width and the height - 1.5 and 1.6 meters, respectively. The two-cylinder gas engine located in the back of the body has a volume of 623 cubic centimeters and 33-horse-power. The maximum speed is about 100 km per hour.
For their $2500, Tata Nano buyers will not receive neither air-conditioner, nor radio, nor even side-mirrors. But its owners will be able to save on gasoline - Tata Nano spends about five liters per 100 km.
The luxury variant of Tata Nano (which is also planned) will have bumpers and door handles similar to the color of the body, alloy wheels, etc.
The mini-car Tata is going on sale in India later this year.
