Bill Gates is going to quit Microsoft

During his speech before opening Consumer Electronics Show, Bill Gates announced his quitting the company in order to focus on the charity fund Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Gates began his speech with a humorous demonstration of the short film devoted to his last working day at Microsoft, and to his vain attempts to go about something else.
Then, when the movie ended, and the laughter died down, Gates talked seriously. In addition to the statement that his speech at CES is the last for him as the chairman of Microsoft, Bill Gates made a few forecasts on the further development of the computer industry - and forced the audience to listen to him attentively.
In particular, Gates said that â€œthe first digital decadeâ€ ended, and starting second one will focus mainly on building links between people, not computers.
In addition, Gates predicted soon departure to the history of the keyboard and the mouse: they will turn out unnecessary, since the future, according to the head of Microsoft will be given to computerized household devices controlled by voice and touch - from phones to cars. â€œThis is the very area underestimated by most people,â€ - said Gates.
Finally, Bill Gates demonstrated a relatively new development: Tablet PC equipped into the desk (Microsoft Surface), reported that a hundred millionth copy of Windows Vista was sold, and announced the detention of several high-profitable bargains between Microsoft and other companies, such as NBC, Ford, MGM and Walt Disney).
In fact, this time, on the contrary to the tradition, Microsoftâ€™s chairman did not provide any radically new developments. In addition, Gates not always proved right in his previous predictions. Nevertheless, weâ€™d better take these forecasts of him seriously.
