Call OF US For Unrestricted Internet Condemned By China
29th January 2010
China has said that US criticism on its internet controls could harm the ties between the two countries. In order to lift restrictions on the internet, the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton had called China on Thursday. She has also urged Chinese government to investigate on the complaints, which Google has filed on the issue of the cyber attacks had originated on China.
Ma Zhaoxu, the spokesman of Foreign Ministry has said that US should respect the facts and should also stop making groundless and baseless accusations against China. He has further added that US has criticized the policies of China to administer the internet and suggested that China has been restricting internet freedom. This runs to contrary to the facts and such accusations could be very harmful to China-US relations.
The criticisms by Mrs. Clinton have been called information imperialism, in an article in the Communist Party`s Global Times English language news website. There is no use of putting allegations on the policies of China. It would be better if US comes on the table with proofs and then China will consider to take serious and practical action. Unless or until, the Chinese government does not get authentic proof, the government will not take any kind of action against any local or national firm.
