Counter-Strike and Everquest banned in Brazil

In Brazil, since January, 18, the computer games of Counter-Strike and Everquest have been banned, as they provoke violence and â€œharm the health of the usersâ€.
These games should be removed from all the computers on which they had been installed, otherwise their owners will have to pay a daily fine of three thousand dollars.
The ban on these games had been approved by the Federal Court of Brazil in early October 2007, but its introduction was delayed.
According to an owner of one of computer-clubs, his club is going to suffer great financial loss, as all the versions of the game are licensed, and Counter-Strike is the most popular game in any computer club.
The official distributor of these games in Brazil, the company of Electronic Arts (EA) - has already commented on the decision of the Brazilian authorities. According to the company, EA is waiting for the formal judicial notice to take appropriate measures.
