Guitar Hero brought billion dollars to Activision

Representatives of the game publishers Activision reported that Guitar Hero games since the release of the first part of the series has brought the company more than one billion dollars. According to the NPD Group analysts, just in the United States there were more than 14 million copies sold.
Today, the series includes original Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Guitar Hero III, available for the owners of PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, was developed by Neversoft studio. The studio Harmonix Music Systems, responsible for the production of the first part of Guitar Hero, now belongs to the publishers Electronic Arts and released in mid-November the game Rock Band, a direct competitor to Guitar Hero III.
By the way, last year Guitar Hero III was the best-selling game in the United States, reports GameSpot.
