IE vs Firefox: who is first?
15th January 2009
A French monitoring site called XiTi Monitoring, reports that Internet Explorer owned 59,5% of the European market by the end of 2008. We`d like to point out, that this is its worst “achievement” for all the time!
Even 6 months ago IE`s market share began falling down, being constantly replaced by Mozilla. At that time the figures looked as follows: IE - 65% and Mozilla - 32%.
It is noticeable that Opera and Chrome also own some considerable percents of the European market. XiTi specialists also noticed the increasing popularity of Mozilla`s browser in Eastern Europe, where its share is now 50%.
To sum up, we have two world industry leaders now: IE and Firefox. We dare say that such products as Opera and Chrome can hardly be equal contestants for the two abovementioned. So, it will be exciting to watch the “fight” between these giants.
