Microsoft makes improvements to Office Open XML

Microsoft has made changes to Office Open XML specification, taking into account the wishes of the countries that took part in the vote on standardizing the format of the international organization ISO.
The Office Open XML format is used in the office packages 2007 of Microsoft Office System and Office 2008 for Mac. Last September, the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) rejected an application of Microsoft for accelerating the procedure of standardizing the format, since it had been unable to recruit the necessary number of votes. That time countries-voters made a totally over 3200 animadversions, and the Microsoft had to improve the format.
As it is known now, many of the submitted comments on Office Open XML repeated each other, thus, after screening analogues only about a thousand of them are left. Microsoft made necessary improvements. They, in particular, dealt with the methods of work with passwords, compatibility with other formats, the possibility of internationalization, etc. The second phase of voting will be held later in February.
