Mobile Firefox 1.0 Alpha 2: test version of the beloved browser for cell phones
27th January 2009
Mozilla Corp. continues testing the new versions of mobile Firefox. A year earlier, they spread information that there would be no mobile or MID version of the browser. However, a few weeks ago, the general director, John Lilly, reported that in the near future the first public build of the program would be released. So, the new Mobile Firefox code-named Fennec proved his words.
To the moment, the browser is meant only for a single mobile device of Nokia N810. However, anyone can download the corresponding build for Windows, Mac OS X or Linux. We should warn you, that you must not expect too much from this build as this is no more but the first alpha. This version offers the main window, favorites and address bar.
The second alpha adds advanced tools for zoom, speeds up loading pages, contains an updated user interface, expands management system, improves security and much more.
