New version of Sky addon for Google Earth

There is a new version of the addon Google Sky to the service Google Earth. It should be remembered, that this addon gives an opportunity to perform virtual space walks.
The interface and navigation tools are similar to the standard means of Google Earth - search, zoom, choice of layers, the option My Places.
The new version of Google Sky offers new layers of information:
Current events at viewing the starry sky - a layer containing up-to-date information regarding the events in outer space, such as flights of asteroids and comets.
Selected Observatories - a layer of images taken by satellites in different layers of the atmosphere, including X-ray, infrared, ultraviolet and microwave snapshots of the sky.
Historic maps of the starry sky - these pictures helps you to understand how mankind`s understanding of the sky has changed over the time.
"Sky Review" - by which users will be able to travel over 100 virtual most interesting points in the sky;
"Starry sky" - the community in which users worldwide place information about celestial bodies and phenomena.
In addition to the new sections, the updated Google Sky provides podcasts on the stars, galaxies, planets and upcoming events in the sky. Also today, there are API and Google Sky available, which will allow independent developers to build their own hybrid applications using the constantly growing gallery of Google Sky.
