Nintendo wins consoles war, Sony becoming "bad egg"
27th January 2009
The War of Consoles 2008 is over. Nintendo Wii won the voctory, reports Yahoo. Sony, inspiring great hopes for the victory from many experts and analysts, turned out, so to speak, a bad egg. Nintendo has been holding leading positions (sales of home entertainment systems and portable consoles) for the whole 12 months.
In November (one of the most important periods for the game industry), the company sold in the United States more than 2 million Wii copies, which is almost twice more than Xbox 360 (836 thousand copies). The number DS exceeded 1.5 million units. This is three times more than Sony PSP (421 thousand units). Of course, such incredible sales could not been seen throughout the year, but in most cases, Nintendo was a leader, leaving Microsoft and Sony behind.
