A few days ago the edition of InfoWorld held an action under the slogan “Save Windows XP”. The main objective of the campaign is to convince Microsoft to extend the deadline of selling Windows XP to an uncertain long term.
Microsoft originally planned to end the supply of Windows XP on the 31st of January this year, but demand for this programming platform remains quite high. The reason is that Windows Vista is not compatible with all corporate software, and many companies are simply not prepared to accept the costs associated with upgrading to the new operating system. As a result, last fall, under the pressure of users, Microsoft decided to extend the deadline till June, 30. The “cut” version of the operating system, Windows XP Starter Edition, according to the current schedule will be available in the markets of the developing countries until June, 30, 2010.
However, even now it is virtually impossible to buy the beloved OS. Unwilling to tolerate this situation, InfoWorld`s staff organized a campaign in support of Windows XP. The action started on January, 14. Many users leave comments criticizing Windows Vista, and third-party sites urge visitors to adhere to participate in the action. .
