Sun buys MySQL for billion dollars

One billion dollars is the very sum that Sun Microsystems agreed to pay for the developer of the software with open source MySQL. Software using this database are used on millions of sites, including those on Google, Facebook and Nokia.
Commenting on the deal, Sun reported that it plans to distribute MySQL among large corporations, which are its main customers. In addition, Sun has good relations with other servers` developers, such as IBM and Dell, and the company will be able to distribute MySQL through them.
