Through the mobile phones giving campaigns, the Americans are working hard to help Haiti and have been successful in providing relief to the organizations. Millions of dollars are being sent through this campaign. The US Red Cross has settled up this mobile phone campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to raise money for the victims of that catastrophic earthquake, which took away thousands of lives and leaved many people mourning over their losses, in Haiti.

Eight million dollars has been raised, early on Friday. 100,0000 dollars are being poured in after every single hour. By just sending the word â€˜Haiti` via SMS to 90999, Americans were donating 10 dollars at a time for Haiti relief funding. It is the special number, which was settled up, just after few hours of this earthquake, by the American Red Cross. And the US State Department had helped in t his task.

According to Abi Weaver, a spokesperson for the US Red Cross, the mobile phone giving campaign had got a success of raising 7 million dollars at 11:00 pm, on Thursday, right after two days of the powerful earthquake struck the insolvent Caribbean island state, which has reduced much of its capital to wreckage.
