They managed to increase the speed of data transmission via Infrared port by 250 times!
30th January 2008
Until recently, no one would argue that the speed of data transmission via Bluetooth wireless connection or via WiFi ismuch faster and more effectively than via infrared ports.
But, in connection with the recent developments of the company KDDI R & D Laboratories, this statement can be doubted.
The company developers were able to create a new technology, enable to increase the data transfer speed via infrared port up to 1 Gb per second!
Given that until this moment the maximum data transfer speed via infrared port was 4 Mb per second, then it turns out that the developers managed to increase it by almost 250 times.
According to the company, the improved infrared-port allows transmitting the entire contents of the standard CD-ROM in just one second. Hopefully, with the help of the new technology it can even be possible to upgrade infrared ports in already existing devices, reports Ubergizmo.com.
