They stop developing Netscape

The company AOL, which owns the ancestor of all browsers, Netscape Navigator, officially announced that it will terminate the development of this program. The support of browser will end on February, 1 this year. After that date updates and new versions are not to come out. Old ones will still be available for download on the official site.
The reason of this decision is Netscape`s inability to attract attention, and the number of its users is negligible small - only about 0.6%. It should be recalled that in the middle of 90ties, when Netscape was at the peak of popularity, its market share was more than 90%.
The developers of Netscape advise fans of the browser to switch to Firefox. It is interesting, that among the developers of Mozilla`s browser, there are many of those who previously created Netscape.
