Update for Vista protects users against malicious gadgets

Within the monthly update of their products Microsoft has released a major update for Windows Vista, designed to protect users from dangerous gadgets.
Windows Sidebar is a sidebar of Windows Vista, on which small applications, known as gadgets can be run. For creating gadgets HTML and various scripts are used. Since Vista recognizes gadgets as normal executable files, they can be very dangerous. It is sufficient to add malicious code to this type of applications, and it will be run with the gadget.
The update, released by Microsoft adds the mechanism, protecting your computer from installation of malicious gadgets and blocking their launch in the event they are already installed. In addition, Microsoft will keep a record of malicious applications and warn the user if he wants to establish such a program.
