Updated models of Mac Pro and Xserve
23rd January 2008
The company Apple before the Macworld exhibition presented new models of Mac Pro desktops and servers Xserve based on the four-core processors Intel Xeon 5400.
The new Mac Pro desktops, without a doubt, are one of the most powerful personal computers on the market and focus on professional use. While there will certainly be many of those willing to buy powerful desktops for home use.
It should be recalled that series of desktops Mac Pro has replaced the model of Power Mac G5 in 2006. Since then, the series has received a rank of the most powerful desktops for PC in the range of Apple computers. By the way, Mac Pro`s cabinet is still virtually no different from that of PowerMac G5.
Those users who have chosen Mac Pro, can form a self-configuration of the model out of the options.
Thus, the list of video adapters provided for Mac Pro include ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT and the Quadro FX 5600. The standard configuration of updated Mac Pro, valued at $2800, offers two four-core Intel Xeon processors, 2 gigabytes of RAM and hard drive of 320 GB, reports News.com.
New models of Xserve servers, equipped with one four-core Xeon processor, two gigabytes of RAM and Mac OS X Leopard, in a standard configuration will cost $ 3000.
