30th January 2008
The company Yahoo has announced its joining the project OpenID 2.0. This means that active registered users of Yahoo, ( about 248 million) since January, 30 will be able to use their data for authentication on other sites supporting this technology. Currently, there are already about 10 thousand of such sites. Thanks to the support of Yahoo, the number of accounts OpenID increased to 368 million.
OpenID is very easy-to-use because you do not need to remember you login and password for each site, instead of that, you can use the only one universal account. The project has already interested other large companies, such as Google, Six Apart, AOL, Sun, Novell and Microsoft.
