YouTube blocked in Turkey

YouTube sets record for the number of bans in Turkey: the other day the popular service was banned for the third time. The reason was the movie, insulting the â€œfather of Turkeyâ€, Mustafa Khemal AtatÃ¼rk. It was his insult that led to the service ban in March last year. Then the banning lasted only two days and was lifted after the removal of the problem spots. After that YouTube was under the threat of ban in September, but the ruling was never applied that time. Insulting AtatÃ¼rk in Turkey is considered a violation of the law, the image of this man hangs in government offices even after 70 years after his death.
Turkish users trying to log into YouTube, meet the message on the portal block, in accordance with the decision of the court from the 17th of January. It is unclear how long the current ban will last. YouTube has already given a message, in which it expresses hope for an early restoration of the portal access.
