Best modes of 2008

This site of The Mod Database is getting ready to the award ceremony of the best modifications 2008. Two phases of selection have passed and already now we have a list of 100 best modes and independent games of the last year. We are to learn the winners in late February. Meanwhile, you can look at some candidates:
D.I.P.R.I.P.: special races set in napalm-burned landscapes. Based on Half-Life 2.
Half-Life 2: Wars: an unusual attempt to make an RTS involving war, control of units, assignments, specific navigation based shooter.
Stargate: La RelÃ¨ve : the gameplay of Battlefield 2 ported to the Stargate universe.
Median XL: an extension for Diablo 2, adding to the game 210 new skills, new items, stones, runes, sets of equipment.
Portal: Prelude: an informal prequel of Portal, where GlaDOS did not even exist.
Crossfire 1.8: an updated version of the old Freelancer with improved graphics, sound and a lot of innovations in the gameplay.
