DeviceLock 6.3: protecting corporate data
20th February 2009
The new version of the product DeviceLock 6.3 is meant to prevent data leakage from the corporate network, and protect the network against malware.
The utility can control users` access to various devices (including floppy drives, serial and parallel ports of local PC, CD-ROM drive, media of FireWare and ZIP, etc.). DeviceLock 6.3 can be set to limit access for specific user groups, to give access to reading only, to restrict access according to day of week. The utility has really smart features: e.g., it can permit reading a special DVD/CD at recognizing a unique digital signature, despite a user is not allowed to use a DVD-drive.
DeviceLock 6.3 itself can be controlled only by a user with administrative rights.
This version contains a good list of innovations and improvements, among them being an expanded support of Windows 2000 TrueCrypt and PGP Whole Disk Encryption 9.8 and better compatibility with Windows Vista SP1.
