Exchange for MacOS X owners
3rd February 2009
Microsoft released a public beta version of their software for owners of Mac computers to work closely with corporate mail servers of Exchange.
According a senior product manager in the Microsoft Mac department, the beta version of Entourage to Exchange Web Services (EWS) is still free.
Earlier, Entourage to Exchange Web Services had been tested by networks of several major companies using Mac OS, servers Exchange and Office 2008 for Mac.
According to Microsoft, the new software will not use the protocol WebDAV, which has been used for the last 5 years in work of the e-mail client Entourage, supplied by Microsoft for Mac OS X. Now the program uses another software bundle, using original API-functions of Exchange. Thus, Entourage is almost equal to Outlook by its speed and functionality.
