Firefox can beat Internet Explorer
22nd February 2009
Internet Explorer`s market share dropped again. At the same time Firefox, Chrome and Safari are slowly climbing up. These data were published the other day by the company Net Applications.
Internet Explorer is still a leader among browsers, but its share fell down by 0.6 % compared to the previous month and by 7.92% compared to the same period last year. At the moment, the browser enjoys popularity among 67.55% of the total number of users.
Firefox wins the 2nd place: 21.53% of users prefer the Mozilla product. Its market share increased by 0.19% and by 4.55% compared to the last month and the same period of last year, respectively.
Safari, Chrome and Opera occupy the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions. They have 8.29%, 1.12% and 0.70% of users respectively. Note, that Google`s product managed to beat up Opera and the increasing appetite of Firefox, which is very likely to push IE from the leading position.
