Futuremark is beginning to make games and presents 3DMark Vantage
29th February 2008
Futuremark Company has recently demonstrated several screenshots of 3DMark Vantage a new Benchmark especially developed for DirectX 10. The programme is aimed at full use of shaders 4.0, and many other popular graphic technologies. Pictures are look like frames from feature films Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones or Transformers. It's hard to believe that such graphics can make ordinary home computers.
Meanwhile, it is known that Futuremark is tired of doing just tests for hardware. The specialists decided to set about to develop full-fledged games. Futuremark Game Studios is going to take up such projects. They has began to work on some PC-game.
Note, that Futuremark has a lot in common with interactive entertainments. The firm was founded in 1997 as an independent department Remedy Entertainment, which created Max Payne and which is working on Alan Wake (PC, Xbox 360). It is quite possible that in the future, Futuremark Games Studio and Remedy will cooperate closely.
