Geo-social network in Google Maps

The program Google Maps for mobile devices acquires features of a geo-social network. Having launched the service Â«LatitudeÂ» a user will be able to get real-time location of people listed in his friends list. In order to take advantage of the new technology, it is enough to download the latest version of Mobile Maps to your phone equipped with GPS-module. All userâ€™s contacts, activated at the moment the service Â«MyLocationÂ» will be displayed on the map in real time.
Just like in ICQ-clients, in Latitude you can set the list of privacy by hiding your contact information from unwanted contacts. You can also conceal your location unilaterally. It is noticeable, that the program constantly communicates with satellites, thus, reducing work time of the phone battery. In the future, the service is going to include the option of History.
