Google Earth 5.0: traveling ocean fleet and Mars
23rd February 2009
Google Earth has been updated to version 5.0, which introduced a number of very significant improvements. The most important of them is a detailed three-dimensional map of the ocean floor. Another interesting innovation allows you to travel in the time 50 years ago and look at the individual sites and their changes over time. You can also record a virtual tour and explore a three-dimensional model of Mars.
Google created the ocean map in conjunction with National Geographic, Monterey Bay Aquarium and the American fleet. Approximately two-thirds of the world now can be studied under the water, watching images and videos of the ocean life.
As for the map Mars, it was developed with the assistance of NASA.
Google Earth 5.0 is available for Mac OS and Windows.
