Google finances transferring Photoshop under Linux
29th February 2008
Google has reported on the financial support of CodeWeavers, a company, which develops an open source software Wine that allows running Windows applications under Linux.
One of the managers of Google said that the company pays CodeWeavers programmers for providing the best possible correct working of Photoshop CS and CS2 in the Wine environment.
Google already uses Wine for the version of Picasa under Linux. Thanks to Wine, Linux users can edit photos in Picasa and load them to the Internet.
A study conducted earlier by the company Novell showed that Photoshop is a program that most Linux users would like to see running under their platform.
