Google may buy Skype
22nd February 2009
It`s been 4 years since the online auction eBay bought Skype for $2.6 billion but it has not managed to take full advantage of it anyway. Skype, however, does very well, for instance, its annual revenue of 2008 increased by 26%.
Rumour has it, that Google is going to buy Skype. The search giant has every reason to do that as it plans a lot of services requiring Skype`s functionality. For example, the service GChat already has some integration with AIM so, Skype can be next, as well. The same can be said about the service GrandCentral and the operating platform of Android for mobile devices.
So far, neither Skype nor Google has confirmed the rumour yet.
