Hackers use Google to detect vulnerabilities on sites
28th February 2008
A well-known group of hackers Cult of the Dead Cow (CDC) has developed a program that allows scanning sites for the presence of vulnerabilities with the help of Google. Goolag Scanner is offered free of charge to all wishing.
With a great degree of irony CDC strongly advised all webmasters to download and test their sites to identify vulnerabilities in them before the hackers do that. Experts in computer security, in their turn, warn webmasters from downloading this software, since it could contain malicious code.
