Kaspersky Labs` reports on popular viruses of January

Specialists of “Kaspersky Labs” introduced a review of viral activity in January of this year, based on the analysis of the mail traffic. They note that for two months on end, the main disturber of the piece in the mail traffic is the representative of a new family of Trojan-loaders Diehard. In December 2007, they were three at twenty, and the first month of 2008 added to a rating one more variant.
However, the representatives of the famous Warezov family are not going to disappear from the scene. One of them was on third place in December, and the other was on the tenth place in January.
A significant breakthrough of the triad Nyxem.e - Bagle.gt - Netsky.aa is of particular interest: all of them are within the first quartet, though just two months ago - in November - they just returned back to twenty.
Other malicious programs represented in the mail traffic formed a significant percentage - 6.83 - of the total number of intercepted, which indicates quite a large number of other worms and Trojan programs relating to other families. Interesting is the disappearance of annoying Fraud.ay phishing-attacks from the twenty.
