Launching Of Ethanol Product By Novozymes
1st February 2010
According to the Chief Executive Steen Riisgaard, Novozymes, Danish Biotech Company will launch a new enzyme to produce transport fuel from agricultural waste, in the fist quarter of this year. He further said that it that was the company's firmest guidance yet on the timing of the release of the new product, called Cellic.
Novozymes has a 47% market share in the global enzyme industry, for the use, for example in the food and washing products industry, as well as bio-ethanol. U.S. ethanol producer POET has done a trail on the Novozymes enzyme on a limited basis for a couple of months, but following the launch it would be available generally on a commercial basis.
According to Riisgaar, it is going to be available soon in commercial quantities. People will be able to do it a big scale and the company is working hard at anew factory in Nebraska, just for this purpose. The new product is going to be competitive with corn-based ethanol and gasoline and it has been claimed after doing experiments with the product. He further said that it could be a good business and it the ethanol producers start to rely on the continuation of the subsidy then it would be much better.
