Mass Effect runs under PC better than under Xbox 360
29th February 2008
Those who have ever played Mass Effect under Xbox 360, know that this large-scale space RPG spaces felt “tight” under the Microsoft`s play-station. Some technical drawbacks as freezing often took place. Of course, these were not critical problems, but some discomfort took place. But things should change with the PC version of the game. PC.IGN has recently looked at the PC version of Mass Effect shown at GDC 2008, and wrote a long and interesting preview about it.
According to the journalists, the game looks almost the same as on the console. There are some changes. Developers improved resolution (1920 x 1200), added special visual details. They also significantly accelerated the loading time (1-5 seconds).
The best is that the developers reduced the duration of trips by elevator, which should save a lot of fans nerve cells.
