Microsoft polishes up Windows 7

Microsoft keeps silence about the final release date of Windows 7. They give various excuses: need for careful coordination of ongoing work with partner ecosystem, preparing drivers and hardware, etcâ€¦
The previous version explains their concerns, as it provided, but rather poor compatibility with hardware drivers. It resulted, for instance, in such problems, as impossibility to run old apps. Apparently, the software giant is not going to make the same mistake again. Now Microsoft swears that any software and hardware, successfully running under Vista, will run under Windows 7, as well, as these two OS are based on the common code.
The final version is likely to be released in early 2010.
