Microsoft postpones SQL Server 2008

Microsoft is forced to postpone the presentation date of the final version of the new database management system SQL Server 2008.
Currently, SQL Server 2008 is at the stage of testing. DBMS realizes numerous innovations and improvements. According to a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 will be able to interact with databases sized 20 terabytes and more. The product will introduce enhanced tools of managing corporate intellectual resources, full support of unstructured data, as well as improved encrypting information.
Microsoft originally planned to introduce SQL Server 2008 in a special event on 27th of February at the same time with two other key products, Windows Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008. However, the developers turned out pressed for time. At the same time, Microsoft is anxious to release a high-quality product, not to strictly observe a previously scheduled date of announcement.
According the new schedule, the next candidate-release of SQL Server 2008 is scheduled to be submitted during the second quarter. Thus, SQL Server 2008 will come out no sooner than in the beginning of autumn.
