American Carnegie University - Mellon Pennsylvania State appeared in Internet news due to the development of its members, which was called Posey.
Posey is an online meccano which demonstrates a new way of the interaction of a human being with a computer. You can assemble various mobile designs with elements of the meccano made of plastic and equipped with sensors and LEDs. Information on all manipulations with details is transmitted to the computer. For data transference ZigBee protocol is used, which is the latest and most promising technology for building Wireless networks by large numbers of autonomous device. According to this information, specially designed software builds in real-time mode three-dimensional image on the monitor screen. Thus, the user has the possibility to control 3D image, by changing the position of real details of the meccano. Scientists have already found several useful applications to this toy, and are using it actively already, including for the creation of three-dimensional models of molecules or animated characters, reports.
