Postbox: new mail client from creators of Thunderbird
26th February 2009
The company Postbox presented their e-mail client beta of the same name, which provides automatic indexing of the whole contents of a mailbox, including attached files, and pictures.
Postbox was created with the help of the Mozilla Gecko engine and is based on the software used in Thunderbird. The solution has integrated search and data indexing mechanisms. There is also an interesting component called Compose Sidebar, which allows you to easily add required content into a message. The point is that Sidebar will display all attached files, documents, schedules and links found in the previous email - each of these objects can be dragged to a new letter with a mouse cursor.
Postbox also offers convenient connectors to share the content emails with a wide range of web-services, including Facebook and Twitter.
It is not known if Postbox would be aan open-source app so far. Postbox 1.0 is scheduled to be released in spring 2009.
