Schlage LiNK: manage your door lock with your cell phone & PC

The brand name Schlage, owned by Ingersoll Rand, submitted quite an interesting thing: LiNK door locks without keys, controlled via the Internet. With the help of this product you can always create a temporary access code to the incoming servants or guests, as well as monitor the status of the lock from anywhere.
To use Schlage LiNK in your apartment, you need only a permanent channel of access to the Internet. After installing the lock in the door you mange it by means of a special wireless gateway Schlage LiNK Bridge, connected to the central home network router. The manufacturer guarantees stable connection between the gateway and the lock at a distance of up to 30 meters. Communication between the owner and the lock is encrypted at all stages of transmitting.
You manage access to your home by using four-digit access number that you enter through the panel on the outside of the door. Personal access codes enable parents to know when their children or a housekeeper come home. The owner of the house may determine codes validity for access and control the exact time of each of the code. In addition, you can open the door from your work place or when on the way home whenever you want.
Schlage LiNK system can notify you of the codes using by means of SMS-messages or via e-mail and special web-portal. Now there is no need to come home any time you need to let somebody in â€“ all you have to do is logging in to a special web-portal specially designed for such devices as Blackberry or iPhone.
