Symbian Foundation accepts new members

Other 14 companies joined to the developing team of Symbian. The alliance of Symbian Foundation, which was founded by Nokia, now includes HP, Qualcomm, MySpace, SanDisk, Atelier, Bank of America, Imagination Technologies, Gemalto, Omron Software, Mobica, Nanoradio, SiRF Technology, SESCA and VirtualLogix.
Thus, the total number of companies in Symbian Foundation is 78. It also includes such vendors as Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson. The aim of the consortium is to create the open platform Symbian, based on S60, UIQ and MOAP. Its release is scheduled for 2010.
