Universal emulator for playing archaic games
26th February 2009
Experts on the history of computer engineering from the University of Portsmouth are developing a universal software emulator that would allows you to run any video game, both a specimen of the 70-s of the last century, and a new development of our time.
The scientists are working on a utility which would allow any person to play the game of his/her childhood without the need to search and install a special emulator. Various high tech museums have a lot of old game consoles, but they all are useless simply because we can not play them. And now the British scientists invented a way to save the digital game culture for next generations.
At the moment, we have a lot of emulators, but none of them ism universal, however. So, the situation is going to be changed dramatically pretty soon.
