Upgrading to Windows 7 for free

Rumour has it, that Microsoft is preparing a special program which would allow users of Vista to upgrade to Windows 7 for free.
According to some information found in the net, the free update will be provided to users, who would buy PC with pre-installed Windows Vista during the period from July, 1 2009 to January, 31, 2010. The purpose is absolutely clear: the software giant is just willing to sell out their previous OS at any cost.
The free program of Windows 7 Upgrade Program will be available only for versions of Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate. Editions of Windows Vista Home Basic and Starter Edition can be upgraded to Windows 7 only for money.
Anyway, Microsoft has not confirmed the information so far.
