Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 are on production
27th February 2008
Microsoft Corporation has completed the development of two important products: Windows Server 2008 and the first set of updates for Windows Vista. This was announced on Monday by the head of the corporation Steve Ballmer. He had reported that both products are already on production and told that the large companies have already started the transition to Vista. In particular, Ballmer mentioned Continental Airlines, a company that had bought in Microsoft 10000 of licenses. The head of Microsoft also had expressed the confidence that after the release of Service Pack 1 corporate users will introduce Windows Vista more actively.
Windows Vista Service Pack1 is in the production now in five languages: English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese. The rest localized versions of the operating system will be sent to production in mid-April. In next few months OEM-partners of Microsoft will begin to preinstall Vista SP1.
In the centre of Microsoft downloads and in Windows Update service the first pack of updates will appear in mid-March. And in mid-April, Service Pack 1 will be automatically loaded to computers of the users who have enabled the system of auto-updates.
