VMware Fusion: visualizing Mac OS X
27th February 2009
VMware Inc. announced updating their product VMware Fusion 2.0.2, a popular virtualization solution for Mac OS X.
VMware Fusion allows owners of Intel Macs to create virtual machines to run different operating systems and applications for specified OS. Launching an alternative operating system does not require computer restarting, like many similar solutions (eg, Boot Camp). With this program you can launch Mac OS X and Mac-applications in conjunction with Windows, Linux and other operating systems, compatible with Intel hardware. The product is also compatible with the platform Apple's Xserve and is often used to virtualize corporate servers.
This update provides supports of the competing product Parallels Desktop 4: so, now users can import virtual machines created with this tool. Version Fusion 2.0.2 also supports Parallels Server. In addition, the developers fixed several errors that prevented stable operation of virtual machines Mac OS X 10.5.6, and also eliminated the problems associated with deployment of virtual machines Leopard Server on new devices of MacBooks, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
