Cilk++ Hyperobjects - Reducers And Others
16th March 2010
In the parallel computing world, the nonlocal variables might be inhibited otherwise all of the independent parts of the multithreaded program from its parallel operation, just because of the fact that they introduced the race conditions. The linguistic mechanism is being provided by the Hyberobjects which allow many different branches of the multithreaded program to efficiently maintain the local views that are coordinated of the same kind of the nonlocal variable. During that presentation, all three kinds of the hyberobjects were being discussed by Charles Leiseron. The hyperobjects that are considered to be very useful by him and his co-researchers are reducers, splitters and the holders, and they are ultimately implemented in Cilk++.
Cilk++ is actually one set of the extensions that are done to the C++ programming language which is used to enable the multicore programming in MIT Cilk style. The Cilk Arts had been acquired by Intel in the month of July in year 2009.
The research centers of Professor Leiserson about the theory of the parallel computing especially because it is related to the engineering reality. The accomplishments of him include the co-authoring of the first papers which is one the systolic architectures, which has invented the retiming method for the optimization of the digital circuits.
