Cloud's Stimulus Spending Is To Be Managed By HHS

The Health and Human Services Department has now signed off a multimillion dollar deal in order to use the software as a service for helping the management of its stimulus spending. There had been a contract of HHS with Acumen Solution, which is a business and technology consultancy, for deploying an application of Salesforce.com which will be used to manage the relationships among the HHS, the health providers which would be served by the new technology and also the recipients of the stimulus money that are for the deployment of the health information technology.
It is an example of the gradual embrace of the cloud computing by the government that is spurred in part by the leadership from Vivek Kundra, the federal chief information officer. The federal budget of the fiscal year 2011 proposed by the administration of the President Obama has called cloud computing to be one major part of the strategy that can be used to achieve efficient as well as the effective IT. It also pushes the federal agencies for evaluating the cloud computing along with many of the other deployment methods that are for the new IT project. HHS had also given an amount of 375 million dollars to thirty two of the non profit organizations.
