Game Top Secret is being elaborated by 20,000 people

A cult developer Dave Perry, who recently has left his studio Shiny Entertainment, is now developing, being supported by games publishing company, a project of online multi-users game (work name is Top Secret), in elaboration of which anybody can participate. So far, 20,000 people are willing to take part in the project, but only one of them will be chosen and this lucky beggar along with Perry will direct the creation of the game and then receive a percentage of sales. According to Perry, who is the “ideological inspirator” of a project, involving into games development such persons as ordinary gamers, many of whom are gifted as game designers, programmers or screen-writers, will significantly expedite the creation of the game as compared to standard timing of the development a traditional studio requires. Perry said that he was pleasantly surprised by the number of volunteers responded, and expects that the project will adhere to one hundred thousand people. Such high interest on the part of players to the project is quite understandable since many fans of computer games often develop mods to their favorite games, and much of the developers grant to them tools for such work. One of the most famous mods is Counter Strike, based on the famous Half Life. According to Perry, gamers who got interested in the project in the future have fairly high chance to get a job in major game studios. Dave Perry got interested in designing computer games at the age of 15 and to this moment has been a member of the largest companies in this industry. Perry is the author of such games as Earthworm Jim, MDK, Messiah and Enter the Matrix. At present he takes part except Top Secret, in three similar projects, and also directs elaboration of a global interactive map of the game industry, which will indicate the maximum number of existing in the world game studios and publishers and independent developers, BBC News says
