Google Gadgets

IBM Corporation announced that Corporate users will soon be able to interact with the so-called Google Gadgets directly through WebSphere Porta software. Google Gadgets are small applications that can show interesting for a user information in a convenient form or perform some functions. Gadgets, for instance, can display information from the Google Calendar, social Orkut network, the online Wikipedia encyclopedia, and so forth. In addition, there are mini-applications, used to make translations, search information from definite resources of the internet, also news and stock reports, etc. Currently, the Google Gadgets database contains about four thousand various mini-applications developed by Google specialists, as well as other programmers. WebSphere Portal platform, in its turn, is a portal of a corporate level for organizations and large companies. This platform allows you to implement powrful portal's applications, set to the needs of users. WebSphere Portal and WebSphere Portal Express 6.0 users are planned to get an opportunity of direct interaction with Google gadgets. This feature will be implemented up to April this year. The IBM notes that this simple and convenient system for communicating with mini- applications will help the corporate users to gain access to a variety of social networks and the various Web services.
