Lombardi against Microsoft's Games for Windows
20th March 2007
In his last interview Doug Lombardi, chief executor of Valve declaired, that he doesn't like this enormous advertising campaign of Microsoft Corporation named Games for Windows. All this resembles a part of overspeeding Windows Vista", - answered Lombardi and added that in two years the phrase Games for Windows would hardly exist at all. Microsoft positions this initiative as a way to lighten users' life in consistency and combination of game platforms (the matter concerns, in particular, the consistency with DX10 and integration with Xbox Live service). But Doug thinks that game industry don't need one more marketing move of this corporation. "The advance of Vista is useless to game industry, it useful only to Microsoft, and only to short-term prospect, at selling start", - said Lombardi.
