Microsoft announces release of VoIP server beta version

Microsoft announced release of the first public beta version of Office Communications Server 2007 at the end of March. This package will provide applications Microsoft Office with functional of IP - telephony. Currently, Microsoft site is carryinhg out a registration of users, who are willing to take part in testing of both server and client application Office Communicator 2007 for mobile and benchtop systems. Office communikator includes voice and video connection, as well as internet-pager. Office Communications Server will realize calls via the Internet by a mouse clicking of phone number in Word, Excel, Outlook contact list and e-mail. Microsoft points out, that the companies will not have to replace existing VoIP-systems by this server, as it is only a supplement, which is compatible with other VoIP-products.
