Microsoft concluded a bargain with Quest Software

Microsoft Corporation announced the conclusion of the first bargain, concerning software licensing in the context of the Work Group Server Protocol Program (WSPP). This program is held according to European Commission decree, adopted in 2004 during the antimonopoly court examination. The contract was signed with the company Quest Software. Under the licence of WSPP, Quest will have access to communication logs, used in Windows Server Operating Systems and Windows Work Group Server. The company is planning to develop innovative software solutions using protocols of Microsoft, what will provide users with advanced features for integration of authentificational systems of Unix, Linux and Java servers with Active Directory software. It is known that Quest will pay Microsoft 5.25% of the income earned from the products with embedded protocols of the corporation. By the initiative of Work Group Server Protocol Program licenses for the Microsoft protocols are already given to 27 american companies. Quest Software became the first companyparticipating in the europe program of WSPP.
